Fairy Tales Do Exist in the Real World

Guilin, China
If you think that fairy tales exist only in books or our fantasy world, you have not discovered our world yet. Whether it is a natural wonder or a human-made masterpiece, this world has so many wonderful places that will take your breath away and leave you being in awe.

What I am going to show you now will make your eyes glow. Be aware, you might suddenly feel utterly bored by your daily environment as you might get infected by chronical farsickness after you have seen the magical sceneries. However, take it as an inspiration to travel around as much as possible, because life is too short to miss out on unique treasures.

The Sydney Stories: First Time Encounters

So I went to Sydney four times now from which I had the longest stay in 2010. Ironically, I took the fewest photos during that period, although I had stayed for almost half year. It's no surprise though. Back at that time, I haven't discovered yet how captivating the art of photography can be, and consequently, I missed out many beautiful views that I could have frozen up forever.
I am sure that what follows next year in 2013 will be even more breathtaking as ups and downs on life's rollercoaster are getting steeper and steeper. Before I might  make another life-changing step, let's look back at all the little encounters and experience in the past that actually inspire and encourage me to pursue a future path out of my comfort zone.

Most of these encounters and experiences happened in Sydney. I still remember how I was amazed by so many common things, because they were simply new and a first time encounter to me...

When you arrive at a completely new environment by yourself, you cannot get away of being surrounded by strangers in the beginning. It takes a while to gather up the courage for a first step, it takes a bit more to adapt and to find a common sense of fun, and it takes even longer to make true friends. In the end, I rushed through a lot of fun, a lot of people, and found the learning points in being different, doing different things and yet still be myself. I have to admit it has not always been a smooth experience, but from today's perspective, it was definitely worth it. At least, I learned a lot about how I want my lifestyle to be and which people I would always appreciate by my side.

The Sydney Stories: What has been and follows, is a long story

Instead of reviewing the last two months, let's take a very long road back to summer 2010 when I made my first footstep to Australia for an exchange semester and roll out every little piece of the long, long story; Because despite being ready for some good adventure during that half year, I could have never guessed how much influence and change this place made to my life.

Within these two years, three more Sydney trips had to follow until I can tell today that the story has come to its steady state, and is now about to jump to its next level. It ended up in four meaningful chapters, and each came with its very own theme, accompanied by ups and downs, sometimes more dramatic, sometimes less.

Although there were times when we wanted to simply jump off the bridge, we kept carrying every heavy stone to finish our bridge to the shore. Even maybe not yet complete, every part we built up, walked through and left behind together is worth remembering...

and I never got the chance to illustrate all those parts of the long, long story... yet :)
